Bomber riding protection is the essence of the Burton AK 2L Altitude Gore-Tex® Snowboard Jacket for women, a winter layer that sheds weather in style. The 2L Gore-Tex® fabric slams the door on wet, driving snow and keeps you dry for warm and comfy shredding. An articulated cut gives this all-season snowboard coat a nice fit with plenty of freedom of movement. Tough-as-nails design features include water-resistant zips, taped seams, and a removable stretchy waist gaiter. Best jacket I have owned!
Initially I was sold on the Mexican blanket print alone, but the AK gear remains the top of its' class in waterproof-ness, fit, and overall performance. I ride 100 days per year in the Kootenays (interior BC) and this jacket has served me well on all of them! On cold days there is enough room to layer a thin down jacket underneath and the pit vents allow for adequate ventilation when touring or riding in warmer weather. My one wish is that there was wrist gators, but other than that, I wouldn'tchangea thing. Highly recommended if you want have a dry, comfortable season!

I just love mexican blankets! I just could not believe how beautiful this jacket was. This season should be great in the Black Hills of SD and I cannot wait to wear it!

excellent waterproofing, sweet style, articulated fit and very happy with my AK pants from last year!

I was wondering if this jacket would be good enough for being a lift operator at Jackson Hole. I have never lived there before but I know they get a crazy amount of snow and extremely cold weather. Me being a lift operator would be in that cold all day long, for about 8 hours, so I want to make sure my jacket will be able to be completely waterproof, be able to remove/add warm layers by either a zip up system inside the jacket or extra room, and be able to snowboard in after work is done. How would you say this jacket is for this kind of use. Do you have other jackets to suggest?

Best Answer: The Burton AK 2L Altitude Snowboard Jacket would be a great option. With the Gore-Tex shell you'll stay dry and warm. Just remember to layer in light layers so that you can handle the sun exposure without sweating - this will kill you. The AK series are not the most generous but from personal experience there is plenty of room for layering. Don't use anything cotton...wool is your friend. A good Merino Wool base layer is worth it's weight in gold.
Have a great season!!
