A shopper asked: What is footprint reduction technology - can I ride a regular board with a size 12? Oct 8, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Roy MStaff: The Burton Jet Snowboard Boot is a great boot, but it can't work miracles. But you may be in luck. A 12 will have the footprint of an 11 and this may allow you to ride a regular board...the Footprint Reduction means that Burton has gone and shrunken their boots to a size lower, while still giving you your perfect fit. Basically it means that if you were to buy a size 10, it still fits like a 10, but it has the footprint of a size 9. This is great for cutting down on toe snags and just adding more overall board control. Oct 8, 2013

Mason Mill: Hey Roy, I'm an more of an advanced rider myself and I am interested in these boots, but I have seen multiple descriptions of the Burton jet saying that it is a beginners boot, is there a similar boot I could find that is more for the advanced rider with boa/dial up technology for a the same/lower price? Oct 20, 2013
Roy MStaff: First of all the Boot does not make the rider...that being said you want something that responds to your riding style.
A combination of low price with convenient lace and high(er) performance is a bit of a tall order. Try looking at the Ruler, the Moto or the Raptor. These all have the aspects that you are looking for...the Raptor more than the other. Hope this helps. Oct 23, 2013
