Staff Review
Dave here at The House, talking about one of the best snowboards we have in the shop. Brand spanking new Burton Custom X snowboard. They did add the channel to it which is really, really nice. Now you can use it with the EST snowboard bindings; which is definitely going to revolutionize your snowboard feel, the cushion, and also the weight of the entire setup too. Pretty much for every reason to attach a bind to a snowboard is better.
Other than that you're looking at the very light Vapor Skin topsheet; it's going to reduce the weight overall, it definitely will be very durable too. Moving into the sidewall, you're going to have the pressure distribution edges, as well as the different compounded sidewall in these regions, and it's going to help protect the snowboard from any kind of damage. It's going to provide better grip on icy hard pack conditions with the pressure distribution edge, and this is going to kind of act as a suspension making the snowboard carve a lot smoother.
On the base, you're looking at the Sintered WFO Vision base, the best base they make. It's extremely fast! It will be the envy of your friends (unless they have the same snowboard). Definitely should require waxing about three to five times out, but the speed payoff versus an extruded will definitely be very, very good. The interior of the snowboard is going to be their Dragonfly Core, which is the nicest wood core they produce. It's extremely lightweight, has tons of lamination, engineered grade direction to give you more power to those pressure distribution edges. All in all, pretty much with the channel system now, the Burton Custom X snowboard is the best wood core snowboard I have in the shop.

"Takes a beating, keeps on trucking"
Pros: Durability, Stability at speeds,
Cons:
I picked up this board second-hand off a rental shop tech when I was working in the Alps. He'd beaten it to hell and back for a season (as evidenced by the abundance of P-tex), but had taken good care of it.
I carried on his legacy, riding this board as hard as I could on average 4-5 days a week for another two seasons, and all it did was ask for more. I've never felt more confident when bombing groomers, had no trouble in off-piste chop, and I never felt any decrease in its pop.
I sadly had to retire it after last season after breaking the rail. But considering this board lasted an estimated 300-400 days of rough riding, I have nothing but praise for this board. I'm definitely getting another Custom X for this season.

"Burton Custom X "
Pros: fast and stable at high speeds,
Cons: No,
Advanced Skiers are always asking how I go so fast on a slowboard as they get passed .This board is amazing going from edge to edge. It is so stable when bombing steep terrain.

"BurtonCustom ICS"
Pros: Perfect for most conditions., Predictable at all speeds.,
Cons: Not predictable on east coast ice., Not perfect in park. (Nor am I),
I am an intermediate to advanced freerider, who tried park riding for the first time this season. I like to ride the fluff in the trees the most.
I picked up the 2009 model at the start of last season. Though I prefer powder, I do live on the east coast. So I wanted an all-around board.
The board made me a better rider the instant I buckled the bindings. It feels like confidence on a stick in most conditions and at all speeds.
While billed as a board for the advanced rider, it is also a nice board for the intermediate rider who wants to grow. At least for me, as I have grown on this board.
In addition to the ride, I love the channel. The channel makes adjustment so simple even with big mitts on. On a recent trip to Colorado, I decided to catch some morning runs at Loveland on the drive back to the airport. Big wind had stashed big snow up top, in the trees. After one run I slid the bindings back with such ease. And the floatfest was on.
5 stars for sure.

"Sick Stable Board"
Pros: Stability, Stiffness, EST binding system, Fast, owns all over the mountain, Solid, Reliablility
Cons: maybe too stiff for some, not great for park or buttering, but ok,
I bought this board 2 years back and love it. it cuts through any part of the mountain and is solid and stable off of jumps. it doesn't flex too much and thus is not superb in the park or for buttering, but man does it fly everywhere else on the mountain. i went from a burton bullet to this thing and it was like night and day. the bullet was like a brick compared to this thing. great board.

"2009 Custom X"
Pros: fast, stable, failry light, cool, simple graphics, good all mountain handling esp. on steep,
Cons: Maybe a little stiff for park ,
I bought the board in a 156 with Burton Mission bindings for my 22 year old son for Christmas last year (180 pounds and 5 ft. 10). He has been riding it at Snow Summit and Mammoth for a year now and says it is the best board he has ever ridden. He rides a 156 so even though it is stiff he can control it pretty well off jumps and rails. Most of the time he rides the blacks and above at the top and hauls a#&. He is a very fast and fearless rider and says this board has no limits and is very stable. So, I guess it is the perfect board for all mountain and some park stuff on the side.

"La nieve polvo no es un problema"
Pros: En nieve polvo muy buena flotabilidad, Pisteando muy rápida,
Cons:

"Great Snowboard"
Pros: Stiff for groomed and high speed riding, Looks sweet,
Cons: Not the greatest park board, ----------,
I bought this board in 2009 before I became a member. Over the last couple years I've really come to love this board. I would never let anyone else ride it even. It is a great groomed, high speed board. The only thing is, is that it's not the greatest park board, so I use my Ride Kink. I still love it though and when I'm without my Ride, I push this Custom X to the limits. I can do 360's and rails somewhat with it, but I wouldn't recomend it for a park board. I also wouldn't recomend it for beginners just getting into snowboarding. I would recomend a cheaper Burton like the Burton Blunt. I started riding on a Burton Blunt and worked my way up from that. Since then though, I have really come to love Burton, their bindings, their boots, and their boards (especially the Custom X).

"LOVE IT!!"
Pros: cuts sharp, quick, versatile
Cons: price,
I really enjoyed this board wherever I used it. Loved it in the park because it has a really nice snap to it, but it did not fail me on the slopes either. :p

"Very good board!!!"
Pros: Fast, Strong, Responsive, Easy control,
Cons:
This snowboard the best snowboard that I used before. I liked all at this snowboard, speed, responsive, simple control, design etc. Park, backcountry, freeride or prepared slopes... this snowboard showed itself excelent everywhere

"Solid board"
Pros: stable, responsive, great edge control
Cons: stiff,
I love my Custom X. It responds really well carves like a dream. I rode my bud's custom and the X is much stiffer so it's stable at high speeds but butters won't feel as buttery as a custom. All around a great board with added stability for bigger jumps.
