    Pros: Good Edge Hold,Responsive Flex,Smooth Stability,Quick Edge to Edge,Lightweight,Smooth Carves,Fast Base,Scratch Resistant, Cons:

Just got this board when it went on sale. I've been riding for about 4 years and have a passion for going fast and carving. My old board was a Salomon Forecast Era, which is stiff and hyperactive. I loved it for the years I had ridden. I was able to test ride a NS Raptor X in 161 and decided that was a little long by the transition ease. I pulled the trigger on this board in 158 and was completely blown away. I was riding icy spring conditions and the board never lost edge. The stability when bombing was unreal even when hitting the hard ice chunks left behind on the groomers. Hitting the jumps was another experience, lots of pop and stability on landings. It was my first ride on this board and possibly last of the year and I cant wait to see what it does on good snow. This board was poppy, fast, stable, and agile. The ride seemed effortless even at low speeds which surprised me given the boards geometry and stiffness. Buy this no especially at the price.

Matt GStaff: What type of terrain do you ride the most? That will help me suggest one board over the other.

Is the 28.5 from Mondo sizing?

Rick W asked: How would you contrast this board with a Rossi experience, or xv magtek for that matter? Jun 13, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Dana W: Hey Rick,

The XV and Experience are super stiff directional board (stiffer tail softer nose and set back stance) made for the most gnarliest of condition. (big mt, steeps and deeps). Tthe Darker is more of an all around board for those who have big feet, like to charge hard and love the feel of traditional camber. It has a twin shape with a slightly set back stance. The C3 gives you the feel of camber but the benefits of rocker in the pow. Hope this helps if you and any more question feel free to give us a call just ask for Dana.

Cheers

Dana

p.s. I currently ride the Skunk Ape but next year I hope to be on the Darker!

ANTHONY P: This board is probably one of the more aggressive boards I've ridden. I haven't had an aggressive stiff board from Rossi so it wouldn't e an apples to apples comparison. This board is awesome though if you love to carve and burn down a mountain. I rode a salomon forecast era which was a stud agressive board and the darker series is just next level. One edge it is just effortless and very stable. I ride Midwest so conditions get icy and this thing chops through where others wash out by me. The wide is also a major upgrade for me as I wear a 12. Still very nimble and light feeling. Jun 13, 2014

A shopper asked: im 6'2 and 200 i like to ride all mountain park tree runs back country what size would be better 158w or 161w? Apr 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Matt GStaff: You fit within both weight ranges of the 158cm and 161cm Lib Tech Darker Wide Snowboards. If you tend to ride faster than the average person get the 161cm, it'll be a little more stable at high speeds. Apr 22, 2014
