I am trying to decide between this board and another starter rossignol (Rossignol Decoy Snowboard 160). Been skiing my whole life and started on a board 2 years ago. Progressing quickly and time to pony up to my first new board from an old play it again k2 purchase :-). Much more of an all mountain rider than terrain park. Seems like the amptek is better but worried about how soft it is. The board I have now seems very stiff. Any pointers or directions between these two boards would be helpful. Looking to purchase immediately. Please let me know which may suit me better, or which one will last me longer till my next board upgrade. In case it matters. 6'0" 165lbs size 10 shoe?

BEST ANSWER: IF you had to choose between the Rossingol Circuit Amptek Snowboard and the Rossignol Decoy Snowboard I would most definitely choose the Circuit.

I would however suggest a different board that would cater to the type of riding you enjoy most, freeriding. The Rossignol Angus Amptek is cheaper and build to give you everything you need when cruising the whole mountain. The 7 out of 10 flex rating makes the Angus stable at high speeds, and combined with an All Mountain Rocker profile shape (40% camber between the feet 60% rocker on the nose/tail) the board will feel playful while tracking straight through powder and keep and aggressive edge hold while turning.

Same deal as the Burton board you were looking at.... I would go with the 155 here. Both are good choices.
what is this amptec and how will it help my ride?

BEST ANSWER: Amptek Auto-Turn on the Rossignol Circuit Amptek Snowboard refers to the profile shape of the snowboard. The Circuit has a hybrid profile with a combination of both camber and rocker. Camber is located between the feet for stability while turning and rocker is located on the nose and tail for a loose feel while floating in powder and for a catch free ride on groomers. It's the best of both worlds!
