Staff Review

This is Dave here at The House talking about the Burton Fix snowboard. It is a really, really cool twin-tip kill-it-all freestyle snowboard. It is with sintered flex and sintered side-cut. You got the channel on this one. It has got pretty much the biggest performance jump I’ve seen Burton make in the 22 years that I’ve been riding. It is mounted up with EST snowboard binding. You get better snowboard feel, increased cushioning, easier adjustability, and tons and tons of the extras.
From there we got the P-Rocker. It’s going to be flat between the snowboard bindings and they have a little bit of kick in the nose than the tail. Burton is smart. They don’t do it super aggressive. 90% of the time when you run flat base, you’re still going to have contact with the snow. What it does though is it makes the snowboards a lot more forgiving. Say you come around a little short on your switchback 10, it’s going to allow you to scoot you through and roll away from it, also pressing rails, box and stuff like that. It’s already predispositioned to do that. Moving from there, it will have a scoop nose and tail, slightly bold out nose and tail. So, if you’re doing like any kind of butters, manuals, flat ground stuff like that, super forgiving snowboard and combo’ed with the P-Rocker, it is almost impossible to catch your edge at the point of contact.
From there, you’ve got basically a 1045 sidewall, puts a lot of meat directly over the edge, but moves into a slight wall at the top to save weight. On this one, you have got a sintered base, die-cut graphic on this one. The fixes are going with violent tools, which is always fun and stuff. Really poppy graphic. It takes a lot of wax, only gets faster the more you wax it. Flex on this baby is going to be probably I would say about a 3 out of 10. It is definitely your softer and more freestyle oriented snowboard.
Other than that it comes with the Rail Ready tune. It’s already got the edge detuned. So basically take it out, hit the rails with it, and ride away. It has got Park Fly II core in this one. It’s going to have lighter weight woods in the nose than in the tail. It’s going to promote quicker swing weight or faster swing. This makes it come around a lot quicker. It’s going to make it react quicker as you’re carving through the freestyle after school and stuff like that. It comes with the Get Lifted program. It is really, really cool.
So, yeah, Burton Fix snowboard man, awesome deck!

    • "Fun"

      , LA MIRADA, CA
Pros: Fun, mellow flex, procker Cons: sluggish, tends to wash,

Not for everyone. If you had to choose one board to always ride I would not pick this one. I will say that it is a super fun park board. I love the P-Rockers lazy feel. The construction of the board does make it easy to wash out on landings and a little sluggish in turns.

    • "Awesome park board/all mountain fun"

      , Napier, HKB
Pros: Super flexy so is awesome fun to press anywhere, Butters amazingly, Edges won't catch (even at high speed) Cons: Not solid enough to really nail high speed lines,

I have had this board for one season and was a little worried when I first got it as I'm not a great park rider, more of an all mountain kinda guy. The fix really surprised me, it's great fun anywhere on the mountain - you can press easily, hop over rocks, hit trail jumps and then nail moves in the park. Can't put it past the sweet graphics too. The shape is super forgiving and the rocker at the ends really keeps you up and floating on powder days or out of the crud on slushy days. The only con would be the fact that it is quite a flexible board, so isn't great at really high speeds - but if you're game then it's great fun and if you're an experienced rider it can be managed anywhere on the mountain (black diamond runs and chutes etc). All in all if you're looking for something you can use absolutely anywhere and have a really sick time mucking around while you're doing it, this is a great board.

    • "RADICAL"

      , magnolia, TX
Pros: Flexible, Easy to warm up to, Good pop Cons:

This was my first snowboard, and can I say it was rad. Perfect for the intermediate boarder. Easy flow through any park, jibbing, hitting rails, and jumping. It was also good to me just flying through some groomed runs. Favorite board yet.

    • "Get yer' plank on"

      , west deptford, NJ
Pros: It is a snowboard, Cons: Heavy, Stiff, lame

Take one of those people who post pictures of themselves planking, Then stand on them and try and ride down a snow covered hill. That is the fix. This board sucked. It was too stiff for what it was marketed as. Felt like i was riding on a door down the hill. Pretty heavy too, it killed my feet on the lift.

    • "nice board"

      , Laurel, MD
Pros: All around purpose, speed, easy riding Cons:

I have tried this after my friend bought it from this web site over the summer. Like the other says, it was cheaper in Summer. I love to ride this board because you can have fun at different mountains and snow styles. I would recommend this for beginners.

    • "Burton fix"

      , St. Helena, CA
Pros: Very flexible but not to much , Smooth , Cons:

It's a pretty good All rounder it was my first board and my friends took me every where it's so smooth when ur ridein and it's not that bad at the parks it takes jumps very well and I quite like the pill graphics

    • "good board"

      , ANN ARBOR, MI
Pros: Flexible yet sturdy, cool graphics, Cons:

I had this board for about 2 seasons now, and I am having a lot of fun. Very flexy but it is not SUPER flexy so you never feel like you are riding a noodle. That means it does well during the normal mid-high speed riding, and I am enjoying it. The review on the bottom, (sorry about your board), makes me a bit concerned whether the same thing would happen to my board but so far, I don't see any indication of my tips folding in half because I butter that stick so hard my knee joint would pop out and it is still goin.

    • "Needs fixing"

      , Torrance, CA
Pros: Heaps of fun, but only while it lasted, Cons: Weak as piss,

This board uses Burton's Party Rocker which, put simplistically, is a rocker/flat/rocker setup. Buttering and jibbing are just as fun as you'd expect for a board like this, but the main reason I like this design is that it has all the playful freestyle aspects, but it's still stable at speed. After riding it for a while (just getting used to it) I felt really comfortable hitting some steep groomed for a bit of high speed carving - and here's where things went REALLY wrong! Burton calls their ridiculously thin tip/tail setup Pro Tip - but I call it piss weak crap. Within less than 15 minutes of high speed carving, the nose folded (along the edge of the Scoop) mid-transition, and snapped! OK, so this is a freestyle board, and not specifically designed for carving - but NO board should be this prone to failing under normal riding circumstances! I've since heard many similar accounts of this happening - NOT good Burton! To make matters worse, Burton refused to warranty the board because I bought it.
