Best Answer:I purchased these for my spouse, and no, we had to get a new pair of boots with SNS Profil set up. This is a weird little caveat with Salomons I think. Most will have SNS Profil, which -perhaps not so coincidentally- are usually Salomon boots. (Though to be fair I think we found her some Alpina boots on the cheap). NNS, or other kinds of boot/binding combos will not work because of the position of the bar, its width, and the heal on the binding/boot.
I think they are universal but for the newer style. Old boots from the thriftshop might not work, but any newer ones will. I bought those skis for my wife, we found some new boots 1/2 off on rei clearance website, but the sizes are euro and what was her size listed in euro on her normal shoes was not exactly what it said or was in the boots. Craigslist saved the day on that one. The ate a toe style clip in binding.
