you guys need to explain points more - what's a cascade tip?
A shopper on Oct 8, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Rossignol Experience 98 skis are a great intermediate to expert level carver that can perform on the rest of the mountain in all snow conditions; making them a wonderful all mountain option. The Cascade Tip is a new innovation in construction from Rossignol. The have "stepped" the end-points of the top two layers( one metal and the other fiberglass), which reduces the tip inertia and weight, making the entirety of the ski and the skiing experience livelier and more receptive. In fact the entire nose of the ski has a lowered profile, a smoother line, from the tip of the ski to the front of the binding. This construction also delivers better torsional control of the tip, for more effective grip and very high precision in turns. The Cascade Tip in conjunction with the Auto Turn Rocker make the Experience 98 lively, versatile, and extremely maneuverable.
Are the skis new or used?
John H on Mar 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi John,
I can promise you that non of the items we sell are used. These Rossignol Experience 98 Skis are new, but the 2014 model.
I'm interested in the 98 and the 100 experience models. I notice that the 98's have a smaller waist. I want to be able to turn on a dime and I've heard that a smaller waist is best for that. I ski aggressively on groomed terrain but still enjoy being able to handle powder as well.
Could you explain some of the pro's and con's of each model?
Stefan S on May 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The new Experience 100 has the addition of Carbon Alloy Matrix material which makes the ski more explosive this combined with Air Tip Technology to lighten swing weight gives the ski more quickness. The Experience 98 you are looking at has the Cascade tip and is a classic hard chargers high speed carving ski on groomers and a ski to blast through powder. Best skied by aggressive advanced or expert skiers. Regular advanced skiers will find both skis to be solid on groomers of all density and very consistent in powder snow conditions. The difference on snow between the skis is more a function of the air tip and new materials than side cut.
