Description: Volkl Gotama Skis

The Volkl Gotama Skis are the pick me up you need. When your skis don't quite meet your expectations for a top level ride that can do it all, the Volkl Gotamas are here to save the day! Offering a Full Rocker shape from tip to tail, this ski allows for increased control as your speed picks up and you need to make quick maneuvers. The edge cut is very effective with the matched flex and sidecut allowing for an uninterrupted contact between the edge and snow surface, ensuring that the sharper you take a turn the more effective control you have. Master these bad boys and you won't want to ski with anything but the Volkl Gotamas.

Key Features of the Volkl Gotama Skis:
  • Big Mountain
  • Full Rocker: A smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail with matching side and flex. Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. How? By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
  • Multi-Layer Sensorwood
  • Power/ Tough box
  • Powered by Carbon
  • Radius: 22.5 (170), 24.9 (178), 27.4 (186), 30.0 (194)

Great for advanced riders, for a someone who needs a higher end progressive ski to hit the park or to do some serious jibbing this ski would be a great choice

Need new skis, these seemed like a good deal.

Is this the best all around mountain ski as far as the Gotama series skis are shown. What binding would you recommend for this ski? I've been skiing for 44 years and want only the best as far as a new ski and binding. I have Volkl AC3 Titaniums and need a more responsive ski but am definitely staying with Volkl they are the best.

Best Answer: Hey Brad,

The Volkl Gotama is a full rocker powder ski with a 107mm waist so it won't be great on the groomers as far as response and carving o but it will be amazing in powder if that is what you are looking for.

The Marker Griffon with a 110mm brake would be a great pairing for this ski.
