Is this ski worth it for an intermediate but lightweight skier? My child is an intermediate but I would like to get her to intermediate advanced this year - any additional input on this ski would be great, I come from a racing background but am clueless on purchasing skis for progressing skiers.
Erica M on Dec 7, 2014
Best Answer: Hey Erica!

The Fischer Watea Jr. Skis are great for any little ripper. They cater to a wide range of skiers, making them perfect to advance skills on. The low density core makes it easier for the young shredder to flex the ski out. Cap construction adds optimal quickness and control. Great value at a great price.

I hope this helps. Have a stellar winter!

Are these skiis for entry level or advanced?
A shopper on Jan 2, 2014
Best Answer: I bought these skis for my 17month old son so definitely intended for entry level use, but if you were getting these in a much larger size then these skis are probably a good choice for a beginner-intermediate skier given the modest dimensions:)

is the Fischer Watea Jr Skis twin tips?

My daughter is 4 and a half. She is 41" tall 35lbs. She is a lower intermediate skier and skis 3 days a week. She has 88cm skis. Her instructor recommended buying longer skis. What size do you recommend?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2014
Best Answer: Hey! I don't want to disagree w another instructor, but as a thirty year skiier myself who has taught and has a four and a half yr old of same weight....i wouldn't! Nothing to lose by staying short. Sure, in another year or two, go long! But right now you've got a little person who is comfortable on 88's? I'd keep her or him there. My child is on 70's, also intermediate! I think our ego wants advancement. If the child is happy and used to them, i'd take the length slow. Newer skis are all wider than they were when we were little: already plenty of surface area. Full grown adult intermediates now skiing on 160's. Which i think is silly, but the principle is right: stay somewhat shorter until expert. Anyway, you'll do what you like! I hope yr child has fun. :)

is this twin tips skiis?
Rosie D on Dec 5, 2013
Best Answer: Rosie,
No, they are not. Twin Tip Skis have a rounded tip and tail; they look similar on both ends of the ski. Kinda like this:

Also, do these have a rocker in the tip and tail?
Erica M on Dec 7, 2014
Best Answer: Hey Erica.

The Fischer Watea Jr. Skis are a traditional ski that features traditional camber. Solid edge hold, confident platform, and great turn shapes. The traditional box tail gives the junior ripper power and stability through the arc of the turn. Great profile shape.

Have fun this winter!

Hi, there
I'm thinking to buy Fisher Koa Jr. and Fisher watea Jr.
Are they compatible with NIS binding ?
I have a Rossignol Xcelerator Jr Classic NIS Bindings, which is for use with NIS-compatible skis only
and if I order 1 qt It is pair (left and right)?
Please let me know asap
Thanks
SJ P on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: Hey SJ,

The Rossignol Xcelerator is a cross country binding and these are alpine skis so they will not be compatible.

All our skis will come as a pair.

what binding width does the ski support? 75mm or 90mm
joe c on Feb 22, 2014
Best Answer: Hey Joe!

The Fischer Watea Jr. Skis have a waist width of 67mm. I recommend using a ski binding with a brake width of 5-10mm wider. A 75mm brake would be great where as a 90mm would be far to big.

Have a stellar winter!
